New Stars!

ZulkHogarGouged Eye

gouged eye

Zulk is probably the meanest, baddest, most violent orc currently playing. That’s saying a lot. Most violent player of the Gouged Eye this season (also quite a feat!), some of his moves are already famous for ending careers early, such as the leg drop, and a whole line of figurines are ready to hit the shelves by the end of the season. Zulk seems fine for now to grow under Varag’s shadow but analyst say it is only a matter of time before he challenges the old star for the team’s leadership!

Ka Ironcrag Decimators

ka

Zas y Ka were the only two players to escape the “retirement” of the team by Grimgor, after last season’s final. Inspired by Garaghak‘s leadership they assembled a new team and, helped by Lufiel’s tactical knowledge, Ka led the Decimators to the play-offs again. A no nonsense ork, Ka is known for his “hit first, score later” tactics, managing to outperform living legend Varag Ghoulchewer this season.  Although he has been given several offers (some from the Gouged Eye themselves!), Ka is set to stay in his team and create yet another succesful orc franchise.

Morok – ex- Cleeveland Crescents

ogre

Morok, an ogre slave sold to the Crescents for a few pennies for his uncontrolable rage, has been instrumental in his team’s outstanding season. While everyone remembers him knocking out 3 Tomb Guardians in one match, His subtle leadership to keep his teammates fighting for the match (his shouts during the match of “who are you most afraid of, them or ME?” has been already trademarked) has got them to play-offs. While the Darkside Cowboys, led by  stellar Rackart has been a too tough nut to crack, Morok is set for stardom and as rumours have it, he has been hired by the Marauders, aiming at the Blood Bowl itself.

Thorek “Dead killer” OldstoutWorld Edge Wanderers

enanoSon of the legendary Bruenor Oldstout, ex-captain of the Wanderers, Thorek has an understandable hate of dead things, which is ironic as he consistently makes any effort necessary to inflict that state on his opponents. Although he is very open about his dislike for Blood Bowl, Dead killer has a score to settle after the demise of his father and will not leave the pitch until all undead have been put to rest again. There are rumours he is negociating with the Dwarf Giants for next season, although few believe he will leave the team of his ancestors.

Korhil SeahunterSouthstorm Survivors

Korhil

Korhil Seahunter is the only surviving member of the old Southstorm Squids. It has taken him two years to gather enough Southstorm survivors to make up a new team, but they almost reached play-offs in their first season! Korhil is said to be insane after all his family died when Southstorm sank below the sea and uses Blood Bowl as therapy. Whatever the reason, seeing an enraged elf beat a beastman or a dwarf to pulp and then jump on their unconcious bodies to make sure they are dead, is worth the cost of the ticket every time!

Duke EltharionElfheim Eagles

Duke eltharion

Eltharion has everything that could be expected from a high elf star: He is nimble, fast, relentless and has a very big ego. Even though he has been instrumental in this season’s spectacular performance by the Eagles, he is constantly overshadowed by the Swift brothers. Analysts say it is only a matter of time before these three will collide and then Eltharion will likely have to leave the team… Most likely creating his own as he is one of the richest elves in the Old World!

Naieth LeithianLaurelorn Paladins

ygritte_by_i_andreea_i-d5eqn90

Although new to the sport, Naieth has taken the pitch by storm and leads the league in TD Scored and Most Outrageous Dodges. Despite being branded as a wardancer, the young elf annoyingly reminds reporters that she is, in fact, a Serejauthwen, or blood warrior, and that she plays to fight against the heteropatriarchy that corrupts Nuffle’s teachings, not puny phallic trophies. This hasn’t sat well with most veterans and she also leads the rankings of Most Fouled Player, usually with the referee’s approval and/or assistance. It is about ethics in Blood Bowl refereeing, after all.

Lucien Swift   Elfheim Eagles

Lucien SwiftLucien Swift is not really a new star. He was the star for the Galadrieth Gladiators and won Blood Bowl X. However, after Nuffle picked his brother Valen over him three years ago, Lucien passed a rough patch becoming every skaverazzi’s dream. Problems with drinking. Problems with gambling. Problems with drugs and firearms. He even botched last year’s season for the Gladiators, who saw their funding dissapear and marked the end of an iconic team. With that baggage, the Eagles made a huge bet re-uniting the Swift brothers… But it seems to be paying off!
